eBay and a company called Profiles in History are auctioning off Star Trek stuff owned and produced by Matt Jefferies and Herb Solow including props and original sketches. Holy Cow! http://members.ebay.com/aboutme/profiles-in-history/

Items include Matt Jefferies collection of 79 scripts (starting at $5k), a Kirk shirt ($6k), a Tholian web spinner model ($4k), a model of the soundstage sets ($7.5k), a modified AMT model used for filming ($15k), Kirk's toupee (just kidding), and numerous production sketches, including those of Vaal, Kirk's quarters, the Medusan's box, a the corridor opening of a Jefferies Tube.

Not that big :) Besides, I put all my money into plastic models, which is funny, because I do all my modeling in the computer. Haven't assembled a plastic model in years although I just bought a ship from the Battleship Yamato a few weeks ago. I think the directions are in Japanese. Should be interesting.

I went to the hobby story yesterday looking to see if they had a Syd Mead version of the Yamato (Yamato 2550). Almost picked up a few things but then said - why?

I built plastic models from the age of about 6 until my undergrad days. The last kit I finished, completely finished, was a Star Wars AT-AT in the early 1980s! I did some kitbashing and 120 mm figure sculpting after that, but haven't actually glued anything together in more than 10 years. In recent years I've bought many of the ERTL Trek kits (and a vinyl Excelsior by Tsukuda) but haven't done anything more than dry-fitting them. I still subscribe to Finescale Modeler, visit Starship Modeler and other web sites, and go to hobby stores. I have a closet full of unbuilt kits back in Minnesota but have managed not to buy any kits in a few years because I know I'd never get around to setting up a workbench and actually building. Aren't we pathetic? I now spend my money on toys and books (about airplanes, ships, and tanks!)

Yes, I remember that model. I built the AT-AT also.
I have a bunch of ERTL trek models, still in their boxes. However, I do not have any of the Voyager series models, except for the special edition model of Voyager.

I have about 10 models still unbuilt. Will get to them eventually.

And yes, we are pathetic... :)

Last count I had about 50 but only 2 are of Trek kits. I have a DS9 (not the lighted one) and the Excelsior.

5 Kits are of just variants of the Arado 234.

Christ! You win. You're much worse than me :) The last kit I actually bought was USS Defiant, which was probably 3 or 4 years ago. But back home in MN I have lots of unbuilt stuff, including a 1/96 Revell Constitution (!), a 1/24 Imai Mustang, and MPC (reboxed Airfix) 1/24 Mustang, and a 1/35 Max Dragon Wagon (all received as misguided presents). Why does anyone need five variants of the Ar 234? You should at least make one with a supercritical wing. (By the way, in the new Finescale Modeler there's an ad for a new 1/48th scale kit of a Focke-Wulf Ta 183 jet fighter. It looks extremely cool!)

Well.... I have an 4 in 1/72 and are all Dragon kits. Two standard types (twin engine) and a 4 engine version. One with Mistel and then a 1/48 scale B version.

I can't believe what is being auctioned at eBay Dec 13. Matt Jefferies's Original concept sketches of Enterprise, the Klingon Cruiser, Botany Bay, the Ring Ship, Galileo, curvy shuttlecraft. All the ones in the Sketchbook. Also, the original 3 view schematics of Enterprise, comparisons of Enterprise and the Klingon cruiser, the Klingon emblem, the Enterprise pressure compartment color transparency and original artwork, a blueprint of the AMT Klingon Model.

Also, some props, and costumes, and shit, but who cares about that.

Sure, I'd like to bid as well, but the wife would kill me. (All you single guys out there, buy your toys before you marry!). Jefferies seemed to have tried every possible combination and hull and nacelle for Enterprise. I think we're lucky he came up with what he did.

One of the early Klingons looks like Meshula's McQuarrie class and McQuarrie phase II Enterprise. http://catalogs.icollector.com/cgi-bin/lot_img.pl?h=profiles&l=77&id=a011212 I wish I had seen this before doing my own Klingons. As it is, I'll probably have to do my own version of it.

An ambitious modeler could do an alternate Trouble with Tribbles with early versions of the D7, Enterprise, and K7. You could throw in a curvy shuttle for good measure.
