Does anyone have opinions of the new Doctor Who actor. Has anyone previewed David Tennant as the Doctor? Folks I know here in Canada are kinda worried from those first few seconds. We think that Christopher Eccleston was better even then Tom Baker who we thought was the best. My wife thinks Eccleston took the show to a new level and I agree... but the new guy didn't come across strong in his first momment.

Eccleston quit right after the first episode aired...asshole said he didn't want to be typecast. Boohoo. Now it's David Tennant. Hopefully he'll last a few years.

Riiight... I've been watching it and the first 7 or 8 episodes have been him... so you're telling me that... what?

Actually, that should be in a spoiler tag. In series 2 & the Christmas Special David Tennant will take over. Actually, it wasn't because he didn't want to be typecast, that was a BBC error, it was infact because they had planned this.

Please do not disagree with this post. If the guy realises that the end of series 1 it changes, then... it might ruin it.

I see it has been a while since anyone has posted anything here, but I will have to say that David Tennant has done wonders for the show, dare I say even gives Tom Baker a bit of a run for his money?
You be the judges of that, but for my part David Tennant is a pretty cool Doctor. :cool-sm:

The new series all in all is quite entertaining. Though I wish they would make more references to the classic series.

I agree it would be nice if they have a few more mentions of the old series other than just seeing old villians reappear....

I will say, personally, I thought it was awesome when I learned there was a new Dr. Who series on TV. I watched it all the time when I was a child with my father. I am only now getting to see the newer series from TV, and it has been wonderful so far. I'm still working my way through the episodes, getting caught up, so I have yet to see the new Doctor in action. I can barely wait!
