I grew up watching doctor who from very early up to oh when the local PBS station stopped showing it which was my late teens (I'm thirty now) and I was lucky enough to catch it when my family would go to Mexico and visit relatives, (kind of fun to watch it in both Spanish and English..but I digress). I enjoy the new show but this anyone else think that it's too short? that they try to cram too much into one episode? Anyone else think they should take there time extending stories over a series of episodes, serializing it the way they original did?
just curious.

I did think some episodes were rushed, but the later ones seemed to be more thoughtout, others, the finalle for one, I thought they could have squeezed it down a bit more rather than that whole massive arc turning into nothing.
But people learn, so series 2 I shall wait and see :)

So far, there was only one weak episode, and that was the Darles Chickens one, featuring the Gas Company Ghosts. But even that one was far better than the majority of the Colon Baker episodes, which almost turned me off of Doctor Who when I was in college.

you really think the sleveen episodes were strong ? For me The empty child and the Doctor Dances were the strongest. That gas mask idea with the kid just saying mummy....inspired ! DALEK was good too of course. IMHO Both episodes with the Sleveen were so cheesy n weak it was embarrasing and the ending of the final episode was a real cop out. We Cant think of a clever idea so we'll just destroy the whole DALEK fleet with something right out of Charmed. Very Dissapointing. Being 38 I've also been watching the doctor for a long long time, some would say I shouldn't be watching it anymore at my age lol and this new series has overall been a pleasant surprise. I am really dissapointed that Christopher Ecclestone it going though and if as someone says it was planned (in spite of even Ecclestone saying he didnt want to be typecast and thats why) then it could be a serious mistake, almost as bad as casting Sylvester McCoy all those years ago.

The first episode I saw was the fourth. It left me a little less enthuised with the new DW. I still thought that it was probably just one episode that was scheiza. I really want to see the Dalek episode, but the dvd has it and the two farting alien ones so I havent rushed on that one as much. All the rest of the episodes were pretty good I thought.

Now that season 2 is showing on Sci Fi, what do you think thus far? As for the Cybermen, I thought Lumic was too much like Davros.
