This is a test for Lightwave's hypervoxels. It is a ship, the Dante, landing in a dust storm. The thrusters and the rocks on the ground are HVs, while the storm is just a turbulence texture overlay.

By the way, Vimeo has much better video quality than YouTube, I recommend it. But I can't get it embed code to work.

Good to hear there's an alternative to YouTube (I'm not a fan of that website.) As for the embedded code not working, links work just as well. In fact, some of us prefer them to embedded video.

The subject matter is just a test of the volumetrics and is no where near done.

Volumetric kill my pc when I last tried them .. its been over a year and a half since I realy looked at the Rendering side of LW. my focus since has been the Modelling ..
I'd be very interested in how you did it .. and how long it took to render it

Looks fantastic.
I think I hate you.
LOL!
LWO does awesome rendering and I've not seen anything (yet) that looks as good when doing scifi animations. I was working with the Hypervoxels when got distracted with the character development tools in Carrara.
You always do real nice work - thanks for sharing that clip - it was really cool.

It was all done in one pass in Lightwave 9.3, took about 20+ hours to render at 640x280
