Looks cool. Is this you final version of the ship? It looks sort of cool stretched out like that. About the slipstream: should the start of the tube be so abrupt? (I've never actually seen a slipstream. Those episodes haven't been shown in Japan yet.)

I agree with the stretched out look. If that was your intent, add some motion blur.

Your slipstream is ok, but I would suggest having less of a distinction between the different colors, especially where the color goes from solid blue to transparent.

The ship in the second pic looks great.
