The girl with the dragon tattoo

Image: http://www.seanellery.com/gallery/albums/userpics/dragon_tattoo.jpg

Pencils by Peppe Cafaro
Inks by :James Goodwin

Colour by me! :)

Peppe draws some lovely ladies doesn't he? The original colours to this (in Peppe's deviantart gallery) look amazing as well and I was somewhat hard pressed to come up with something different. I did some research into Geisha makeup patterns, which explains the little sharp edges on her neck and then the normal skintones for the rest. It's not the only style of Geisha makeup, or even the most common, but it's one of them...

cheers

I couldn't see this mentioned here, so I thought I'd add it. Blake's 7 (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-22079232) is being remade.

I've been (re-)watching the original on DVD. I think their special effects were probably on par with most British SciFi of the 70s, which isn't saying much. But the Liberator was second only to the Eagle Transporter in aesthetic appeal, so I'm looking forward to see what they can make of it in the 21st century!

And perhaps Blake will stick around a little longer this time.

Mesh Release: Daedalus class

Somebody (I'm sorry to that person, but I forget who) sent me a private message the other day asking if I had ever released a Daedalus class mesh in TrueSpace .cob format. I actually thought I had, but I couldn't find it anywhere that I release models and couldn't find a zip file for it on my computer, so I probably never did. Anywho, I corrected that oversight.

Image: http://www.3dgladiators.com/dloads/data/media/10/Dae09_00.jpg (http://www.3dgladiators.com/dloads/details.php?image_id=370)
(click the picture to take you directly to the file)

Some people might remember this mesh, I built it about 4 or so years ago. And, since I no longer use TrueSpace, it's pretty much just sitting on my computer taking up space. So, anybody who likes the ship can download it and maybe somebody can find a use for it. ;)

No, I'm not converting it. If you wanted it converted, do it yourself. TrueSpace can still be downloaded for free and it includes an OBJ export plugin. It can be found in CNet's download section. Alternately, AccuTrans is an excellent conversion program and it can easily load and convert TrueSpace meshes. It's free to try, $20 (USD) to buy.

I'm pretty sure I included all of the textures, I installed TrueSpace and loaded the mesh and checked the materials list to find out which textures it uses.

Image: http://www.seanellery.com/gallery/albums/userpics/princessleia.jpg

Pencils and inks by Dawn McTeigue (who has a couple of nice B&W's there in decent sizes btw...)

Finally some down time from all the commissioned stuff I've been doing lately so I finished off this one, which is another that's been sitting half flatted on my HDD for a couple of months now. Kind of appropriate considering that "Starwars day" is coming up this weekend...

cheers

I'm not a big fan of using the term "side projects," because that implies that I have a main project I'm working on, which I don't. Right now, my big project is basically a bunch of little projects while I attempt to learn new 3D software. So, to that end, I built this earlier:

Image: http://evilgenius180.files.wordpress.com/2013/04/ls002_01.jpg?w=500 (http://evilgenius180.files.wordpress.com/2013/04/ls002_01.jpg)

By the way, in case anybody isn't getting it, it's a lightsaber hilt. It's not much, but it's the first object I've finished since switching software. The materials are temporary, I need to look into doing metal materials. More stuff to come, I'll just be posting stuff in this thread as I work on it.
