3 D CGI 3D Programs

This thread will be for those programs that are not free and would be considered Expensive by many.

My hope is that we or I can keep you informed of any Special offers
that sometimes are announced.

Quote:

I won out some years ago buy downloading a free Program. "Truespace3.2
which you have to register as far as I remember". and a few months later
Newtek had an offer for Lightwave8.3 .. it was half the price if you had a registered program .. The free downloaded Truspace3.2 was excepted by Newtek and I
had the Program I wanted..and use today for half price.

Most of these programs offer a 30 day Trial

Houdini? I have the learning edition and it does add a watermark. to get this removed it costs 99 dollars. It will still be a non commercial product but it is the full version. I am having a play with it but Blender is still easier for modell building. As for animation? well the jury is still out on that one.

I think you've forgotten Maya which is a very great program, it can be difficult to use it after 3dsMax but when you try it, you can't go back

Maya is very good, they use it in a lot of TV and Movies. Of course, it should be as good as Max, it's just as expensive.

But, there is always a, but I need a simple but good 3D software to make up ship and planets. As you probably have figured out never done this before. Was hopping someone could point me in the right direction please. any help would be appreciated thanks.

welcome,.

The best free program is Blender, which can do all of these things you need
as far as I know, While I do not use it myself.

Its in the Free 3D programs thread check the links in my Signature area.

at on time I would have suggest TrueSpace, but that is not longer been developed.

If you want to spend money you can try Lightwave, Maya or 3DSmax among others

I have a question for you. Do you mean a fully 3D short film? Or live action with CG space scenes, visual FX etc.

I'm sure or at least I think you could find plenty of people that would do the space shots and such at least I would think so.

Your welcome, .

Full 3d is very daunting when you first consider it, I know I been involved with a few that never saw the light of day, even with hundreds of hours of modeling work.

Blender is a good modeler as far as I have heard, there are other, Daz3d, Carrara,

These Programs are free at the moment,,
http://www.daz3d.com/products?home_k_btn=sidekick

DazStudio Pro 4 (free)
http://www.daz3d.com/products/daz-st...-is-daz-studio

Bryce Pro 7 (free)
http://www.daz3d.com/products/bryce/bryce-what-is-bryce

Carrara, is not free but a friend use it with great results.
