Default Free Spots lost on export.

In Max, if I export to 3ds, I lose all the free spots I've set up. This is bad. Is there a way I can convert to previous version of Max without going through the rigmarole of converting to 3ds and then importing again? It is distinctly annoying...

What version of MAX? In MAX 3.1, and i'm guessing in 4 also, you can easily convert free spots to target spots. Though I'm sure you have a reason that you don't want the target.

Just a thought.
