Klingon D3
Thought I would share a bigger image with everyone. I know, I need a new background. This is the latest. There are windows on her, but I foolishly painted over them when I painted the hull over in the current color.

I really like how you have captured the shape of Masao's design. I tried a while back and could not get it at all. Is the diamond pattern on the nacelle cylinders modelled or a bump map?
Nit-pick Alert!! How come alien ships use Terran navigation lights? Why are they the same colors? Is there a intergalactic navigational code?
Can't wait to see some scenes with this in it!

The diamond pattern is a bump map.
As for the lights, I had the same question when adding them in. I think I will change them. Perhaps to yellow and purple. Anyone else have any ideas?

Rather than simple position lights, you might consider some kind of lighted panel or red police-type flashing light. Just thinking off the top of my head.
I notice that the long thin things beside the impulse block have the bun but are missing the are missing the hotdog at the back end. Also, the front ends with the holes are some sort of intake, so you could make them similar to bussards.
Looking forward to see this thing tangle with one of Thomas's post war Romulan ships. (Probably too early for the Federation, though, if we ignore that "Enterprise" show. )

Another image with a slightly different background. And I still have to add the "hot dog" portion. The Klingon letters are on the wing and nacelle, but are a little hard to make out in the blue light.

The Klingon High Command grudgingly concurs with the weakling human Thomas P. We are, however, extremely pleased with the imminent delivery of our new vessel. We await GLORIOUS COMBAT!!!

Ok, you guys, settle down. (klingons...so rowdy). I need to figure out how to do that sort of thing, as well as finish the mesh.

Sorry. I got Klingons on the brain. I've been writing my monster Klingon article for the Museum. It's up to 13,000 words. Almost finished, thank god. As you guys may remember, I started this project more than a year ago with the D5 and D6.
I actually saw Kahless on the train this morning on the way to work. I didn't eat breakfast, so it might have been the hypoglycemia at work. I spoke with him. He asked me how my article was going. I said, "pretty good, Kahless." He disappeared, and all the other passengers were staring at me.

Yes, that's him. He also had an earthy, but oddly pleasant, odor, with a hint of lilac. Or maybe urine.
